January's blog is a little late due to a problem with the computer but here goes.
The January 30daysketchbookchallenge kept me busy again. It is the second year I have taken part and I really like how it is run. Even though some of the subjects were certainly out of my comfort zone, I enjoyed the challenge and have come away with lots of ideas and am in a good place to keep drawing and sketching. Here are a few of the sketches. I tried to use different media, not just fine liners and loved doing the continuous line drawings.
I have been back to printmaking at South Brent's Art House where I tried to mix up viscosity printing and line etching. It was fun experimenting with colours and marks but the end results still need lots of work!
Thinking of the year ahead I really wanted to find ways to use my off cuts so I have started to have a go at crumb quilting. Putting the colours together was so satisfying.
I hope your January was okay; it can be a tricky one for so many. Perhaps you might like to join in with the 30 Day Sketch Book Challenge next year?
All the best for the year.
