Collage, exhibition, book making and printing all happened in August 25
Collage, exhibition, book making and printing all happened in August 25

The exhibition in the Curator carried on through August and is coming to a close at the beginning of September. It has been very special to have some of my prints in such a lovely environment.

During the Impressions Exhibition in Kingsbridge, I sold a collage I made of under the sea and a print using real vegetation, amongst other things, so I have recently set to to make something similar for the Devon Open Studios, for which I am part of the group at Art House South Brent.

Along with making these I have been keeping up my stock of hand-printed fabric and have made up some more bookmarks.

In August I also signed up for an online book binding course which was great and I definitely want to do more bookmaking when time allows. I am also really interested in using old prints for different uses and recently found the idea of making explosion books.

Pictures for the blank calendars I bought have been printed so they are ready for open studios. I have only done a few as they are time consuming and most will be for presents. Here are the prints that will be in them.

Now the swallows are gathering and the air is cooler, it really feels like Summer is coming to a close. It has been a good one and it has been great to have sunny days to enjoy in the garden and out and about.

Now it is time to get ready for Open Studios in Art House South Brent where there will be lots to look at this year.

Sounds like a productive and busy month! Everything looks beautiful as usual, I especially like the new collages what a brilliant way to turn old prints into something new and exciting!
